0. A maeita is used for smoothing and flattening the front of an obi tied.
1. When you tie an obi by Chyo Musubi, put a maeita after you have finished tying an obi. When you tie an obi by Taiko Musubi, put a maeita near the start of tying, when after you have wrapped an obi for one and a half times on your body.
Either Chyo Musubi or Taiko Musubi, put a maeita inside of the front of an obi.
